Registered Nurse II - Medical Telemetry (RN)Unit: Medical Surgical Telemetry / Progressive Care UnitUnit Type: TelemetryShift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekQualificationsMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS.Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract. A score of 80% is required.Must be willing to float to other units as needed.Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips is essential.Unit InformationNumber of beds: 30 in three 10-bed units.Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5-6.Common diagnoses and patient types include: Surgical: total hip & knee replacements, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory laparoscopy.Medical: MRSA, C-diff infections, suicide attempts, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVID-19, and chest pain.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care for both Medical Surgical Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit patients.Precept nursing students as needed.Coordinate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.Rotate weekend and holiday shifts as required.Participate in unit-specific orientation and training.Additional InformationShifts: 12-hour shifts, 0700/1900 or 1930/0730.Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including Friday and Saturday nights.Floating Requirements: May float to Multi Care Unit and Pediatric Unit.Remote Monitor Techs are available; RNs must be able to read telemetry strips.Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any scrub color except camouflage.This position is a great opportunity for an experienced RN looking to enhance their clinical skills in a supportive unit environment.
