Position Title
SUPERVISOR; BUILDING SERVICES

Objective To maintain a safe, clean and functional environment for BBNA buildings and property, emphasizing leadership, coordination, and reliability. Qualifications Pre-Employment Criminal Record Check. High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years experience in general maintenance and one year in a supervisory role. Offsetting characteristics permitted: significant past accomplishments, experience, education, or future potential. Technical proficiency: Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and work order database. Experience in locksmithing or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire. Ability to obtain State of Alaska Drinking Water Certification as training becomes available. Valid Alaska Driver’s License and insurable under company policy. Skills & Abilities Maintain working relationships with janitorial and BBNA staff for health and safety. Assist with minor carpentry and mechanical tasks. Physical capacity: lifting, extensive walking, vehicle access, moving freight. Flexibility: work outside normal schedule due to weather, occasional backup for janitorial services. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures. Responsibilities Direct supervision and delegation with Janitorial staff. Develop staff plans and participate in recruitment, selection, annual budgeting, and evaluation. Communicate job expectations and delegation responsibilities. Provide a wide variety of physical tasks related to facilities operations: snow removal, checking exits, removing grates, directing water runoff, moving heavy objects, setting up new office equipment, making dump runs, assisting annual garage sale, supporting board meetings, assisting fire drills, providing janitorial backup, installing, maintaining, repairing doors and general locksmith duties. Ensure compliance with regulatory codes: complete online courses for drinking water certification, understand performance specifications, keep Safety Data Sheets updated. Keep management informed: prepare monthly reports for Facilities Manager and maintain required record‑keeping and data entry. Meet travel requirements: schedule trips to provide services, attend training and workshops, occasional village travel. Monitor and improve program and service quality: support administrative and facilities in daily freight and mail functions, pick‑ups and deliveries to/from the airport, purchases from local vendors; support all BBNA programs with deliveries and pickups. Protect program integrity and client privacy: comply with BBNA’s confidentiality policy. Contribute to overall team effort: welcome new work requirements, explore new opportunities to add value, assist others as needed.
