Opportunity Highlights

Schedule:

Day Shift: 7AM - 5PM with night back-up call; Night Shift: 5PM - 7AM (next day) with day back-up call. Starting February 1st, coverage needed 7 days in a row, up to 21 days per month. Clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Job Setting:

Inpatient and Outpatient; Level 2 Trauma Center

Types of Cases:

Trauma, Surgical Critical Care (MSIC, CVICU, CICU), Emergency General Surgery, ICU Rounding, Floor Coverage, Clinic (MD-only patients including ongoing wounds and patients requiring future surgeries). Day team: two surgeons and two APPs (one covering ICU/trauma, one covering floors/emergency general surgery); Night team: one surgeon and one APP covering the whole service.

Minimum Requirements

Board Certified/Board Eligible:

Board Certified in General Surgery and Critical Care required

Fellowship:

Fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care required

Certifications:

ATLS required

Licensure:

Active Indiana (IN) license, CSR, and active DEA required; clean NPDB and malpractice background required. IMLC not accepted.

General Surgery (Adult, Pediatric) Laparoscopic Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication Head/Neck Surgery (including thyroid) Chest Wall/Pleural Procedures Breast Surgery Liver Surgery GI Endoscopy Hand Surgery Ventilation Management Chest Tube Insertion Central Line Insertion PA Catheter Placement Laser Certification Vascular Surgery: Aneurysm Repairs (Thoracic, Abdominal), Arterial Bypass, Peripheral, Vascular Access Devices, AV Shunt Plastic Surgery Pediatric Surgery: Atresias (Esophageal, Intestinal, Biliary), Abdominal Wall Defects (Gastroschisis), Umbilical Defects (Hernia, Omphalocele), Diaphragmatic Hernia, Imperforate Anus, PDA Ligation
