LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Highlands 5 North Medical/Surgical Unit - PM (700)

Job Description Provide nursing care to patients based on the nursing process, UAB Hospital Standards of Nursing Care, and UAB Hospital policies and procedures while ensuring quality of care. Orient patients and family members to the surrounding environment, acting as a patient advocate. Collect patient assessment data and notify RN of potential problems. Evaluate patient response to care, report findings to RN, and document delivery of patient care. Effectively respond to emergency situations. Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, meet patient educational needs, and serve as a role model to other members of the patient care team. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing Program or equivalent. Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required depending on unit/department. #J-18808-Ljbffr UAB Medicine
