Associate Fire Sprinkler Service Technician

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. This is a key position for our growing team and requires someone who is interested in learning the fire sprinkler trade and a desire to start a career in the exciting and sustainable fire/life safety industry.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well)!

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.
• Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.
• Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry.
• Self-starter; able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Willing to learn how to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
• Willing to learn how to thread and groove pipe.
• Willing to travel to local job site locations.
• Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.
• Able to obtain OSHA 10 Certifications
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
• Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.

$40-$50 per hour, final offer based on experience
