How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the immediate assessment and stabilization of patients in high-acuity situations, ensuring rapid and life-saving interventions are prioritized.
• Coordinate with the full multidisciplinary trauma and emergency team to ensure a seamless, high-speed care journey for every patient entering the department.
• Execute physician and nursing orders with precision and urgency, translating clinical directives into immediate relief and stabilization for the patient.
• Monitor and document critical changes in patient status, providing the medical team with the real-time data necessary for fast, life-altering decision-making.
• Support patients and their families through the transition out of the ED—whether to admission or home—by providing clear, compassionate discharge education during stressful moments.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma Nurse credentialed from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) preferred.
• Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Care credentialed from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) preferred.
• Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Nursing Pediatrics preferred.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire is required.
