Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,950
• Location: Portland, Oregon 97213
• Start Date: November 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Healthcare Setting: 24-bed acute-care medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Charting: Epic electronic health record
• Call: Not required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Additional Scheduling: Flexibility to float to nearby units or affiliated locations may be required based on patient-care needs.

Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon or an active compact RN license in hand
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response and code team procedures
• Knowledge of peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, and non-invasive airway management
• Electronic health record charting experience, preferably with Epic
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in an acute-care environment
• Reliable vehicle required for the assignment
• Availability for every-other-weekend coverage and select holiday shifts

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a medical-surgical telemetry unit.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and oxygen therapies while maintaining accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
• Manage peripheral lines and follow isolation precautions and personal protective equipment protocols.
• Collaborate with rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Support safe patient transitions through assessment, care planning, patient education, and communication with patients and families.
• Float to other units or nearby affiliated locations when needed to support continuity of patient care.
