Trade Credit Senior Underwriter, East Coast

Role Trade Credit Senior Underwriter, East Coast – based in our New York City, Boston or Wilton office. The role supports and grows the Trade Credit business on the East Coast, developing strategies for the region, traveling as required, and underwriting business efficiently. Responsibilities Develop strong relationships with brokers and clients to grow the portfolio of trade credit business. Underwrite large/complex and middle‑market, new and renewal insurance submissions, negotiating policy terms and conditions. Analyze domestic and international corporate credits, evaluate financial information, and recommend or approve appropriate credit limits and terms. Maintain and service an existing portfolio of trade credit insurance business. Market, sell, and present to brokers and insureds to increase submission flow. Engage in underwriting and marketing projects to improve overall company results. Train, mentor, and provide technical direction to fellow Underwriters to contribute to group revenue targets and meet internal operations/audit directives. Meet operating and audit guidelines and goals of senior management. Participate in and complete special projects as required by the profit centre. Collaborate with AIG distribution colleagues to identify and close trade credit opportunities. Travel as required. Qualifications Background in credit or financial analysis with strong commercial development skills. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field (preferred). Good understanding of Trade Credit wordings, processes and documentation. High level commercial and sales expertise with broker relationship management. Portfolio analysis skills with knowledge of trade sectors and deep financial and balance‑sheet analysis experience. Decision‑making ability, teamwork, quick perception, good self‑organisation. Ability to work in a matrix organisation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), CapIQ, Salesforce and internal credit insurance platforms. Personal initiative, commitment, accountability, resilience, flexibility. Second‑language proficiency valued. Compensation & Benefits For positions based in New York: base salary range $81,000 – $109,000. For positions based in New Jersey: base salary range $86,000 – $106,000. For positions based in Boston, MA: base salary range $88,000 – $105,000 with eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.
