Distribution Lead

Distribution Lead Job Description: The Distribution Lead is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves managing team performance, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating with other departments to meet customer demands. Responsibilities Maintain a safe work environment and ensure adherence to safety standards. Role model safe behaviors and hold the team accountable to safety standards. Ensure timely reporting and documentation of safety incidents. Manage employee time management and work performance coaching with the supervisor. Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within the shift team. Train and coach associates to achieve operational goals. Create a positive team environment encouraging feedback for process improvement. Recognize good team performance and apply the reward & recognition program. Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators for team performance. Ensure hourly performance tracking and escape issues to the supervisor. Cross-train staff to ensure sufficient resources for departmental tasks. Review staffing to ensure appropriate coverage to support volume. Lead projects for continuous improvement and observe CIL/5S/GMP Standards. Ensure completion of Quality Behavior Observations for the DTC line. Communicate with the customer support team for daily follow-ups. Ensure fulfillment follows FIFO to avoid product rework/scrap. Proactively communicate with the distribution supervisor regarding performance. Ensure proper inventory control best practices and manage aging product disposition. Essential Skills Warehouse inventory management Inventory control Picking and packing Order picking Leadership skills Additional Skills & Qualifications Continuous standing/walking in a warehouse environment for 8 hours or more. Frequent push, pull, squat, bend, and reach to manage products. Continuous lifting of 20 lbs, frequent lifting of 25-40 lbs, and occasional lifting of 50 lbs or more. Frequent stacking of pallets and totes up to 6 feet tall. Frequent lifting above the shoulders. Frequent picking and packing of coffee bags up to 3 lbs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. The warehouse is frequently loud and has a strong coffee scent continuously present. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alameda, CA.
