Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- At least one year of recent experience, ideally in a school or pediatric environment
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to continuing education and ongoing professional development as required by the state and district
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Carry out therapeutic activities and interventions designed to help students meet their educational and developmental objectives
- Monitor student progress, maintaining meticulous documentation and working with the OT to refine treatment plans
- Partner with teachers, school staff, and families to advocate for and support each student’s needs
- Ensure compliance with all documentation and recordkeeping as mandated by state and school district policies
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain cutting-edge knowledge in the occupational therapy field
