Speech Language Pathologist

We’re looking for compassionate, skilled Speech Language Pathologists who are passionate about helping residents communicate clearly, swallow safely, and stay connected to the people and moments that matter most. In this role, you will partner with residents, families, and the care team to deliver thoughtful, evidence-based therapy that supports function, dignity, and overall well-being. This role reports to the Director of Rehabilitation. Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available What You’ll Do Evaluate residents’ speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing needs Perform diagnostic testing in areas including fluency, articulation, voice, receptive and expressive language, dysphagia, and cognitive communication Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical judgment, resident goals, physician orders, and best practices Provide therapeutic interventions that support communication, safe swallowing, and participation in daily life Monitor resident progress, document outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as needed Recommend additional consultations or services when appropriate Support discharge and transition planning, including restorative programs and follow-up resources Educate residents, families, and caregivers on home programs, daily living skills, adaptive equipment, and compensatory strategies Supervise Clinical Fellowship Year Speech Language Pathologists, students, and Rehabilitation Aides in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines Provide in-service education and training for staff and caregivers as needed Complete documentation accurately, thoroughly, and on time Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements Participate in fire, safety, and disaster preparedness drills What Success Looks Like Help residents improve or maintain communication, swallowing safety, and functional independence Deliver care that is resident-centered, respectful, and goal-oriented Ensure therapy services are aligned with each resident’s care plan Honor resident choices, including refusals of treatment, and document them appropriately Maintain a safe environment for residents, families, and team members Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology from a program aligned with ASHA standards Current and unrestricted Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Successful completion of all required qualifying examinations Current and unencumbered Speech Language Pathologist license, registration, or certification as required by state law Current membership with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Working knowledge of speech language pathology principles, practices, and documentation standards Commitment to the ASHA Code of Ethics Physical Requirements Adequate vision and hearing to perform essential job duties Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist residents several times per day Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods Ability to push wheelchairs and beds, carry equipment, and reach overhead as needed Ability to perform tasks requiring reasoning, sequencing, judgment, and basic math skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
