Transportation Project Manager (Roadway & Highway) — East Lansing, MI A growing, nationally recognized multi-disciplined engineering consultancy is hiring a Project Manager for its established Michigan transportation practice. This is a role for an experienced roadway PM who wants ownership — self-performing and directing project teams, nurturing MDOT and municipal client relationships, and leading turnkey projects from preliminary through final design. The team's recent portfolio includes major interstate design-builds, trunkline reconstructions, and complex corridor work across Michigan. What you’ll do Lead freeway and non‑freeway roadway projects from preliminary to final design, coordinating with hydraulic, traffic, structures, and environmental disciplines to deliver turnkey projects Create plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates; coordinate with reviewers to ensure quality Devise capture strategies for new pursuits — teaming, positioning, resourcing — and contribute to proposals Build and nurture client relationships with MDOT, county road agencies, and municipalities Supervise and mentor staff through design and plan development What you’ll bring 10+ years of progressive experience designing and delivering Michigan (MDOT) transportation projects Experience as project manager or lead roadway engineer on MDOT work Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer Excellent verbal and written communication skills B.S. in Civil Engineering (or higher) and an active Michigan PE (required) What’s on offer Up to 9% retirement contribution Generous PTO and parental leave Hybrid schedule based out of the East Lansing office, with flexible/remote arrangements available Real career growth — leadership development, training, and clear paths forward #J-18808-Ljbffr EverHire
