Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant Opportunity Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility in Dallas, TX 75228. This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation! Specific Duties: Prepares exam rooms by disinfecting, stocking, and verifying appropriate medications are available Greets, patients and assist them with signing in and completing paperwork Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner Assisted and accompanied patients to exam rooms Interviews patients and records information into the medical record Measures, collects, and records patient vital signs Performs basic lab testing and other approved tests Prepares specimens for transportation to the lab Assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the clinician's direction Places follow-up phone calls to patients Performs other duties as required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of preferred experience High school graduate or GED equivalent Currently, nationally recognised Medical Assistant certification Current CPR and/or BLS certification Experience with vital signs and basic lab tests (urinalysis, pregnancy tests, etc.) Solid computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Requirements: Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skills Knowledge of medical terminology required The ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies is required Good communication and customer service skills required At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant Additional Information: Location: Dallas, TX 75228 Job Type: 3+ months contract to hire Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am 5 pm Office Hours: 8 am 5 pm Pay Range: $20-$27/hr. on W2 Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
