We're currently seeking an experienced Shift Manager who leads with integrity, inspires others, and is committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences.

 

Position Summary

As a Shift Manager, you will play a vital leadership role in the daily operations of the café. You will lead by example, coach and develop team members, ensure operational excellence, and create an environment where both employees and guests feel welcomed and valued. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

 

What You'll Do

• Lead, motivate, and support a high-performing team while fostering a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences by ensuring outstanding customer service and resolving guest concerns professionally and promptly.
• Coach, train, and develop team members through ongoing feedback, performance coaching, and recognition.
• Ensure food quality, beverage preparation, cleanliness, and service standards consistently meet Urth Caffé expectations.
• Oversee daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, labor efficiency, and shift execution.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards.
• Support staffing needs by assisting with scheduling, shift coverage, and team accountability.
• Monitor operational performance and contribute to achieving sales, productivity, and profitability goals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

 

The Ideal Candidate

 

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous leadership or supervisory experience in the restaurant, café, or hospitality industry.
• Leads by example with professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude.
• Demonstrates excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while remaining organized and composed.
• Is passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Is dependable, flexible, and willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Is committed to developing others while driving operational excellence.

 

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or shift leadership experience in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with cash handling, inventory, and daily operational procedures.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Food Handler Card and applicable certifications (or ability to obtain as required).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced kitchen and café environment with varying temperatures.
