Job Title: Geospatial Analyst / GIS Technician

MUST be an in state COLORADO candidate 2 weeks of training in person in Fort Coliins & then fully remote as long as resident of CO.

Job Description

This role focuses on geospatial data production and quality control, including data mining, managing large file structures, performing geometric corrections, and executing orthorectification tasks. The Geospatial Analyst / GIS Technician supports critical geospatial intelligence efforts by transforming raw spatial data into accurate, usable information that informs high-level decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data mining to identify, collect, and organize relevant geospatial datasets from multiple sources.

• Manage large geospatial file structures to ensure data is well organized, easily accessible, and consistently maintained.

• Perform geometric fixes on geospatial datasets to correct spatial inaccuracies and improve positional accuracy.

• Execute orthorectification tasks to produce geospatial products with accurate geometry and alignment.

• Use ArcGIS and related geospatial software tools to process, analyze, and visualize geospatial data.

• Apply strong computer skills to handle complex datasets, run geoprocessing workflows, and troubleshoot technical issues.

• Support geospatial projects that contribute directly to national security, intelligence, and defense missions.

• Collaborate with analysts and technologists to ensure geospatial products meet operational requirements and quality standards.

• Document workflows, maintain metadata, and follow established geospatial data management best practices.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with ArcGIS and related geospatial software tools.

• Experience conducting data mining and working with large geospatial datasets.

• Ability to manage large file structures and maintain organized geospatial data repositories.

• Experience performing geometric fixes and orthorectification on geospatial data.

• Strong computer skills, including working with complex data and technical applications.

• Geography degree or equivalent education in a related geospatial discipline.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Formal education in geography or a closely related field.

• Experience supporting geospatial intelligence or mission-focused geospatial projects.

• Interest in contributing to national security, intelligence, or defense-related work.

• Ability to work independently in a remote, hybrid, or onsite environment while meeting project deadlines.

Work Environment

The role offers a flexible work environment with options for 100% remote, hybrid, or onsite work, depending on candidate preference. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the option to work a 4x10 schedule (four 10-hour days) if desired. Candidates must reside in Colorado, with a preference for those located in Northern Colorado or the Denver metro area. For any onsite or client-facing activities, the dress code is business casual. The position supports high-impact geospatial missions that directly contribute to national security, intelligence, and defense, allowing analysts and technologists to see their work influence real-world operational outcomes and decision-making at the highest levels.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Collins, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
