Our client, a leading logistics and transportation organization, is seeking a Dispatcher to join their team. As a Dispatcher, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting transportation and delivery services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Dispatcher
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay Range: $24
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
What's the Job?
- Coordinate daily transportation and delivery operations by scheduling routes and assigning drivers
- Monitor shipments to ensure on-time, compliant service and resolve issues in real time
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, internal teams, and customers
- Maintain accurate documentation in dispatch systems and support safe workflow practices
- Assist with cold chain management, including packaging and refrigeration needs
Work Environment
- Combination of office and warehouse work
- Occasional work inside trucks for loading/unloading
- Periodic exposure to refrigerated and freezer environments (protective gear provided)
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two to three years of experience in a related field preferred
- Proficient computer skills and excellent communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed
