The deli cook serves as a support role to the store and may be asked at times to cashier, and provide other support duties such as cleaning, janitorial, and stocking. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a deli or retail food environment. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food preparation. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in food handling or food safety (e.g., ServSafe). Experience with deli equipment such as slicers and grills. Familiarity with inventory management and ordering processes. Customer service experience in a retail or food service setting. Ability to multitask and work efficiently during peak business hours. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook deli items according to established recipes and quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli work area, including equipment and utensils. Ensure all food products are stored, handled, and displayed in compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or spoilage. Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders promptly and accurately. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to food preparation and customer service. Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on food safety and preparation techniques. As needed, provide store support via cashiering, cleaning, and stocking as directed by store management.
