Position Overview This role directs the day‑to‑day and strategic activities of a highly complex, large plant to achieve financial and operating objectives as determined by ARP and the Business Unit. The Plant Manager oversees plant operations, ensuring safety, production, maintenance, warehouse, quality, customer relations, human resources, and finance are aligned with company goals. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Leadership – Organize activities and identify the resources required to achieve plant, business unit, and company goals and objectives. Implement Six Sigma practices to drive continuous improvement. Production – Manage overall plant operations at standard cost while producing quality products on time and within customer specifications to maintain and grow market share. Financial – Control operating expenses to achieve low variances against target cost comparisons, and justify capital expenditures. Quality – Manage raw materials and processes to meet customer requirements and improve product efficiency. Business Planning – Develop and manage a business plan that incorporates ISO, FDA, and other government regulations, financial objectives, and identifies areas for continuous improvement. Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) – Ensure the plant is free of hazards to employees, providing a safe work environment in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. ISO 18000 & ISO 14000 – Maintain compliance with these standards. Employee Relations – Communicate plant performance, training objectives, quality concerns, labor needs, and production changes to maintain morale and address employee needs. Manage selection, development, mentoring, and performance of direct reports, driving talent management and employee engagement. Managerial Responsibilities – Supervise departmental managers, coordinate and evaluate facility operations, and carry out supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Address complaints, solve problems, and coordinate financial and operational responsibilities of the plant. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Material Science, Engineering, Packaging, or related field. Ten or more years of related experience or combined equivalent. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to present information effectively and respond in group environments. Proficiency with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry.
