Golf Aide - Kopf Family Golf Course at Cherry Ridge

Overview Performs a variety of semi-skilled jobs in maintaining and improving Park District resources and facilities, maintaining golf course equipment, and the course, etc. Performs mainly routine tasks in maintenance and landscaping. Preview knowledge of golf course equipment and duties preferred. Compensation and Schedule Rate of pay: $11 to $13 per hour, commensurate with the employee's experience. Hours: Up to 28 hours per week. Responsibilities Cleans buildings (e.g., sanitizes, sweeps, mops) and structures (e.g., shelters, restrooms, and other park facilities). Maintains facilities and storage areas; empties trash and related tasks. Performs routine landscaping tasks including mowing, pruning, weeding, mulching, watering, fertilizing, seeding, and aerating. Assists in special project assignments (e.g., laying sod, spreading mulch, seeding bare areas, preparing seedbeds, aerification, bunker improvements). Mowing duties (greens, aprons, tees, roughs, fairways, etc.). Rakes and maintains sand bunkers. Assists in daily course set-up activities (e.g., mowing tee areas, changing cups, maintaining ball washers, flags, and sandboxes, filling divots on tees, and weeding flower beds). Responsible for maintaining fuel and fluid levels for all equipment on a daily basis. Operate vehicles and equipment (e.g., pickup trucks, tractors, mowers, Gators, and other heavy equipment). Repairs building equipment as needed. Install and maintain split rail fencing and related tasks. Assist with purchases of supplies as authorized. Light lifting (up to 80 lbs.). Perform preventive maintenance on golf course equipment (e.g., mowers). Communicate with other staff, supervisors, and park visitors, both in writing and verbally. Participate in park safety programs and adhere to Park District policies and standards. Performs related duties as apparent or assigned. Qualifications Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. New employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
