Registered Dietitian – Flexible Part-Time 1099

Location: Columbia, TN area
Schedule: Part-Time | Flexible | Set Your Own Schedule
Compensation: $40 per completed client visit
Start Date: October 2026

We are looking for a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our growing community nutrition practice as a 1099 independent contractor. This position provides in-home nutrition counseling and education to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the greater Columbia, TN area.

This is a great opportunity for an RD looking for flexible, independent work that can fit around another job, family responsibilities, or an existing schedule. You will have flexibility in the size of your caseload and when you schedule your client visits.

What You'll Do

• Provide in-home nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy
• Educate clients and their caregivers/support staff, with much of the nutrition education provided directly to staff
• Monitor clients' progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Communicate with caregivers and members of the client's support team as needed

How Scheduling Works

Client visits are typically 30–60 minutes and are scheduled directly with the client and their support staff.

Clients are grouped geographically whenever possible, making it easier to schedule several visits in the same area. Within a geographic cluster, clients are often located approximately 5–10 minutes apart , helping minimize drive time between appointments.

Caseloads typically range from 20–50 clients per month , but the position is flexible based on how much you would like to take on.

You will receive the contact information needed to coordinate your visits and can arrange appointments around your own availability.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in Tennessee
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field with required supervised practice completed
• Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and chronic disease management
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally to client homes
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
• Professional liability insurance (may be obtained after hire)

Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is helpful but not required.
