Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro Unit

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a specialized Neuro Unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a teamwork approach to patient care, maintaining a strong focus on patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with neuro conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to established protocols and standards of care.
• Participate in patient assessments and care planning.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Willing to consider first-time travelers.
• Must possess ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Preferred experience in Neuro and NIH certification.
• Experience or willingness to learn the charge nurse role is a plus.

Shift Details

The position available is for night shifts, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. The contract may range from 13 to 20 weeks, with a commitment to work weekends (5-6 shifts) as part of every other weekend rotation.

Additional Information

All contract staff may be assigned to work within a Storm Team or Hurricane Team, and may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters. Participation in consolidation to a Centralized Office mid-contract may also occur.

Patient Population

The focus will be on patients with general medicine needs, specifically in the neuro field.

Unit Systems

Experience with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems is preferred.

Orientation and Staffing

Orientation for this unit will comprise 24 hours. Scrubs will not be provided; navy blue scrubs are required.

Certification Requirements

Successful candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
