Payroll Specialist

Payroll SpecialistFairfax, VASalary Range: $30-35/hrAddison Group's client is searching for a Payroll Specialist. This role is contract paying $30-35/hr in Fairfax, VA.Key Responsibilities:Process biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employeesReview timesheets and hours worked, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor lawsMaintain payroll records, including garnishments, deductions, and tax withholdingsReconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepanciesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulationsPrepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end reporting documentsRespond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits deductions, and tax issuesPartner with HR and Accounting teams on benefit integrations, GL posting, and auditsAssist with payroll system upgrades or implementationsMaintain confidentiality of all payroll informationQualifications:Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred2+ years of payroll processing experienceFamiliarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, Workday, UKG)Knowledge of wage and hour laws and payroll tax regulationsPerks:Dental, Vision, Medical, 401(k)Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
