Banquet Server

Banquet CoordinatorResponsible for the coordination of setting up, serving and breaking down all banquet facilities. He/She will be responsible for the maintenance and organization of all facilities and equipment.Essential FunctionsEmployees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.Know how to read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu of the assigned function.Serve guests according to the hotel's standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents. Communicate to management, if necessary.Set all tables according to hotel standards.Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and orderly manner, stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for food service functions.Clean up banquet space after the completion of the function and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored and re-stocked properly.Prepare room according to BEO and the various meal functions.Follow all money-handling procedures when serving guests.Know and use "suggestive selling" techniques.Know the menu items for each function served and be able to give accurate descriptions.Ensure overall guest satisfaction.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Be sure to perform, execute, as well as adjust to other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Education RequirementsHigh school or equivalent education preferred.Must have basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations, and etiquette.Ability to understand and apply written product labeling instructions to ensure the safe application of such products and processes within the hotel.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.Constant standing and walking throughout the shiftConstant lifting and carrying up to 20 lbsOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and rampsOther RequirementsMust be available to work at least one shift during weekend hours.Must be available to work at least 15 hours a week.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to read, write and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.Highly responsible and reliable.Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Hotel Madison standards.Additional NotesEqual Employment Opportunity.
