Executive Director Business Development, Biotech (North East, US)

Fortrea seeks an Executive Director of Business Development to lead territory sales strategy and manage a team of business development professionals in the biotech sector. The role combines strategic account planning, team leadership, and direct client engagement to drive revenue growth across the Northeast.

Responsibilities

• Direct territory sales strategy and collaborate with senior leadership on account plans and performance optimization
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop Business Development Directors; manage team performance and feedback
• Assign accounts and territories; establish and deliver individual sales goals and order targets
• Conduct quarterly account plan reviews and facilitate pricing and margin negotiations
• Identify market opportunities and share competitive intelligence with internal teams and marketing

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life science or business field; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years sales experience selling services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies
• Advanced industry knowledge and proven client retention skills
• Experience managing and motivating client-facing teams
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence at executive levels
• Demonstrated leadership experience presenting to senior client stakeholders
• Fluent English, both written and oral communication

Compensation: $215,000-$240,000 base
