Travel RN - TelemetryAmerican Traveler is hiring a Neuro Telemetry RN for a night shift acute care position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and an active AZ or Compact RN license.Neuro Telemetry unit (5NNB/7NNB) within an acute care, Level 1 Trauma hospital32-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratioCommon diagnoses include CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, brain tumor, trach patients, and psych issuesCentral telemetry monitoring requiring EKG interpretation skillsNo ventilators managed on this unitCharge nurse takes a light patient assignmentNurse aides available on days and nights for basic care, vitals, and straight catheterizationCharting completed using Cerner on WOWs12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a4 total weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday)Holiday coverage based on unit needs24/7 in-house respiratory therapy and central pharmacy supportSWAT RN team available for difficult IV accessFloating required, primarily to other MS/Tele units and possibly other regional campuses2-day floor-specific orientation providedAverage length of stay is 4-5 days in this fast-paced, high-turnover unitBedside shift report practicedActive AZ or Compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 18+ months of recent RN experience requiredLevel 1 trauma experience required; Level 2 trauma experience will be consideredNeuro nursing experience highly preferredMust be able to titrate Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin dripsMust be competent in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes using sterile techniqueMust pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to final acceptance (2 attempts allowed)Must pass a Pass/Fail sterile technique skills exam on Day 1 of orientationMust have a valid driver's licenseProvide direct patient care to a medically complex neuro telemetry populationPerform frequent titration of cardiac and insulin dripsComplete SIMs Lab competency testing for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes prior to floor assignmentAdditional education-based training provided for lifts, restraints, and wound careScrub color requirement: steel grayMust maintain natural hair color and no facial piercings; male candidates must be clean shaven for respirator fit testingFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyCandidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptableMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as verified by driver's license addressAuto-offer available for candidates requesting 7 or fewer PTO days; holiday time off requires unit manager approval
