divh2Job Title/h2pA nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of clinical and clerical duties while adhering to Inspira Health Networks Mission, Vision, and Values./ppThese duties include but are not limited to providing clinical and supportive services to patients, providers, and staff, greeting patients, creating or verifying, and updating patient insurance information. Specimen collection, injections/vaccines, entering appropriate information into state database, preparing for exams (including complete vital signs), patient history collection, performing screening procedures per provider guidelines, relaying instructions to patients, and assisting with other specific practice procedures. Required to follow IMG workflow and guidelines, to include participation in daily practice huddles. May be assigned to cover other IMG offices based on staffing needs. Must have the ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Must maintain a pleasant and professional image and demonstrate compassion and empathy when dealing with others. Must acquire the ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks in a timely manner./ph3Education Experience:/h3ulliHigh school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required./liliMedical assistant diploma and certification from an accredited vocational institution or a community college required./liliMinimum 1 year of relevant experience in a Medical Practice preferred./liliPhlebotomy and EKG experience strongly preferred./liliExperience with drug administration, specifically with vaccine and medication injections preferred./liliElectronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred./li/ulh3Certification/Licensure/h3ulliActive Medical Assistant Certification or Registry required./liliMust possess an active AHA Healthcare Provider CPR/ BLS certification./li/ulh3Position Responsibilities/h3pFulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned by specific practice:/ppDuties may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow in Electronic Medical Record/ppAccompanying patients to exam/procedure room/ppAssisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc./ppCollecting patient history./ppPerforming screenings per provider guidelines./ppAssisting physicians/nurses with various procedures, charting; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls and providing pertinent information./ppFulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned:/ppChart preparation; sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/radiology reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc./ppCompleting forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics./ppObtaining prior authorizations or pre-certifications, completing and submitting tasks according to office protocol, managing and updating charts to ensure that information is complete and filed appropriately./ppFulfills environmental responsibilities:/ppSetting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols./ppCleaning/sterilizing exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control./ppMaintaining universal precautions as per guidelines; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms./ppFulfills organizational responsibilities:/ppRespecting/securing patient rights and private health information (PHI); complying with HIPAA guidelines; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing concerns relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors./ppFulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities in accordance with state law:/ppMedical/surgical asepsis, sterilization, instrument wrapping and autoclaving/ppChecking vital signs or mensuration./ppPhysical examination preparations and assistance./ppClinical pharmacology; drug administration through various routes including injections./ppPrescription verifications with physicians orders./ppMinor surgery assistance including surgical tray set-up pre/post-surgical care, applying dressings, and suture removal; biohazard waste disposal and monitoring./ppTherapeutic modalities./ppInstructing patients with assistive devices, body mechanics, education, and home care./ppLaboratory procedures including OSHA guidelines; quality control methods; CLIA-waived testing; capillary punctures and venipunctures./ppSpecimen handling such as urine, throat, vaginal, stool, and sputum; electrocardiography, emergency triage, and first aid, as well as a variety of specialty practice specific procedures./ppAdditional practice specific duties may be assigned./ppstrongBENEFITS INFORMATION:/strong/ppClick Here to Review Our Great Benefits Offerings/p/div
