Banding Line Lead

Location: Shelby Township, Michigan

Shift: 2nd

Pay: Up to $20/hr

Job Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment? We are seeking a dependable Packaging Associate responsible for safely packaging finished steel products while supporting the Horizon Steel Quality System. This position plays a key role in ensuring products are packaged according to customer specifications, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting production quality and safety standards.

What You'll Be Doing

• Fully participating in and supporting the Horizon Steel Quality System.
• Complying with all safety requirements, including wearing required PPE such as hard hats and safety glasses.
• Packaging finished material according to work order specifications.
• Following Control Plan procedures.
• Coordinating packaging activities.
• Processing finished material through the Pro-Flo production system.
• Applying identification tags.
• Designating storage locations.
• Maintaining a clean work area.
• Reporting quality concerns immediately.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a metal manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Equipment Experience Preferred:

• Overhead Crane
• Forklift
• Micrometer
• Caliper
• Tape Measure
• Semi-automatic banding equipment
• Banding conveyor
• Turnstiles
• Coil picker
• Hand-operated banding equipment
• Electronic scale
• Barcode scanning equipment (Pro-Flo System)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and move materials.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
• Must wear all required PPE and follow company safety procedures.
