Senior Vice President, Accounting & Reporting Advisory

At Stout, we’re dedicated to exceeding expectations in all we do – we call it Relentless Excellence®.This Senior Vice President – Accounting & Reporting Advisory is a key member of the ARA practice, tasked with leading client engagements, managing accounting operations, and driving post‑transaction excellence. Responsibilities Partner with clients ranging from early‑stage to large publicly traded organizations in an industry‑agnostic environment. Lead day‑to‑day execution of Accounting & Reporting Advisory assignments, including research and preparation of client deliverables. Prepare and review account reconciliations and communicate with client vendors. Review complex contracts and conduct related technical accounting research. Prepare accounting memoranda and policies. Determine appropriate journal entries and other operational accounting matters. Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures. Research SEC filing requirements and prepare supporting accounting schedules and audit support. Serve as post‑acquisition integration SME, demonstrating familiarity with standard IMO practices and procedures. Lead or assist with identification of post‑transaction recommendations for Finance function improvement across P2P, R2R, and O2C. Serve as a technical accounting subject‑matter expert for the firm’s valuation practice, providing ad‑hoc research and support. Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations for clients, including management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, processing and posting payroll, preparing and posting journal entries. Actively engage in business development, client pursuits, and proposals. Identify areas to scale efficiencies and new ways of working across multiple projects and environments. Interact with finance‑focused ERPs (e.g., "NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle"). Qualifications Broad knowledge of US GAAP, including purchase accounting, derivatives, complex debt and equity securities, stock‑based compensation, revenue recognition, and lease accounting. Financial statement preparation experience. Ability to interpret complex accounting standards and document practical applications. Deep experience with M&A transactions, particularly post‑acquisition integration. AICPA and PCAOB‑level audit readiness preferred. Experience presenting to C‑suite and executive tier. Entrepreneurial, client‑service focused. Strong organizational and multi‑tasking skills. Familiarity with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, Expensify). Relationship‑focused, positive and enthusiastic attitude. Creativity in problem‑solving and strong technical/analytical skills. Education and training: Bachelor of Finance or Accounting, 8+ years finance process and/or transformation experience. Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing, CPG, healthcare, and financial services. Combination of audit and advisory experience; post‑acquisition transaction experience preferred. CPA preferred. Stout is an Equal Employment Opportunity.
