Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description Insight Global is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support a Tier 1 automotive customer. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing embedded software systems running on Linux, with a focus on troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues related to existing products and feature enhancements. The engineer will work from a ticketing queue, partnering closely with customer support, product, and engineering teams to investigate problems, implement fixes, and support new feature requests. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of embedded software development experience, strong C++ programming skills, experience working in Linux environments, excellent communication abilities, and prior automotive industry experience. Key Skills: C+Embedded Linux Debugging & Root Cause Analysis Embedded Systems/Firmware Automotive Software Development Cross-Functional Collaboration Agile Development Environment $55/hr to $62/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. • Bachelor's Degree – Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
• 3+ years C++, Linux shell script and/or Golang software development experience.
• Proven ability to analyze and navigate legacy codebases, including independently investigating, debugging, and resolving issues without detailed documentation.
• Demonstrated skill at navigating ambiguity and resolving issues without detailed instructions or oversight.
• Proficient in Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with agile software development process.
• Familiarity with debugging tools, performance profiling, and system optimization techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain technical concepts. Advanced degree in a related engineering field
