Description:
The hiring process involves an auto-offer after an interview with the clinical team.
The radius requirement for candidates is 60 miles.
Candidates must be present in the state during the week of orientation, even for remote modules.
There are a total of 12 Labor and Delivery beds available.
One OR suite is designated for C-sections.
The unit is equipped with 1 triage bed and 12 postpartum beds.
The average number of births per month is 70.
The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staff-to-patient ratios.
Required certifications include NRP, ACLS, BLS, and Fetal Monitoring.
Common diagnoses and types of patients include hypertension, preeclampsia, preterm labor, and TOLAC.
Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips, specifically oxytocin.
Charge Nurses are expected to take an assignment.
Nurse aides and surgical techs are present on the unit.
OB and neonatology specialists are not available in-house 24/7.
Anesthesia is also not available in-house 24/7.
Respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP is available.
RNs are responsible for reading their own telemetry strips.
The unit utilizes the GEEFM System for telemetry monitoring.
Self-scheduling is allowed within reason based on unit needs.
Weekend requirements involve 4-5 shifts in a 6-week period.
Holiday coverage is mandatory.
There is a call requirement mandating one on-call shift of the employee's choice in a 6-week schedule block.
Floating within the hospital may be required, though the traveler will not be assigned to specific tasks.
Travelers will be expected to manage all phases of labor as part of the LDRP role.
A scrub vending machine is available onsite for the staff.
The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment.
The charting system utilized is EPIC.
A BSN is not required for this position.
This position is in an acute care setting.
