Job Summary: Our DSPs provide direct support, assistance and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities in our residential group homes. They assist with all daily activities and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. Responsibilities: Mentor and support individuals in achieving their personal goals and promoting independence. Treat clients with respect and dignity. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation depending on individual needs. Engage in meaningful activities and outings with individuals to enhance their quality of life Administer medication and monitor health conditions as required Maintain a safe and clean environment for individuals under your care Document and report any changes in behavior or health status Bring your pet to work! Referral Reward Program Flexible health and savings account Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program 15% Discount at MVDS Greenhouse, Mountain Valley Weavers Electric Car Charging Stations We Love to See: Previous experience in childcare, working with people with developmental disabilities, senior care, patient care, or direct support Knowledge of first aid, medications, and basic medical procedures CNA certification or intertest in becoming CNA certified We Require: The ability to provide compassionate and person-centered care to individuals with diverse needs A High School GED or Diploma Ability to attend and pass a QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) class and test as offered by MVDS A valid Colorado Drivers License and reliable transportation A Criminal and Motor Vehicle record which meets company standards A TB test within the first week of employment (paid for by us) Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy Ability to work a flexible range of shift times if needed Physical Demands: Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention Frequent standing and walking; lifting and transferring clients on a as needed basis, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling Expected to assist individuals receiving services with entering and exiting the vehicle, toileting, cleaning, bathing, cooking and other basic life skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr Mountain Valley Developmental Services
