Position Summary :

Assist technician with repairs and installation of alarm systems, such as fire and security as well as intercom systems, access control systems, cctv systems, and equipment such as radios, speakers, transmitters, and related antenna and cable assemblies. These repairs must be completed according to product specification, design drawings, manufacturing instructions, code requirements, and diagrams, using test equipment and hand tools. Other duties include but are not limited to; troubleshooting field wiring and headend equipment to locate defects such as broken wires or burned-out components using electronic test equipment. Assist installation foremen with installing new systems to include, conduit, raceways, electrical boxes, wiring, control cabinets, fire alarm field devices, electrified door hardware, cctv cameras, speakers, radio transmitters, data racks, patch panels, data jacks, and wireless access points. Removing, repairing, or replacing defective components, such as smoke detectors, horn/strobes, pull stations, batteries, and field devices using a variety of hand tools.

Requirements :

• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass NC licensing board requirements (Requires clear criminal background).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
• Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
• Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customers and the public.
• Must be able to carry 50 pounds.
• Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

• Work is primarily performed both indoor and outdoor environments in all/extreme weather conditions.

• Requires the ability to frequently lift and/or carry materials and/or supplies and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of materials and/or supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
