Sterilization TechnicianReports to: Dentist / Operations LeaderFLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)Department: OperationsEmployment Status: At-WillIncentive Eligibility: EligibleJob SummaryThe Sterilization Technician cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes medical and dental instruments, ensuring they meet safety and compliance standards. They manage equipment inventory, deliver supplies, respond to urgent requests, and maintain accurate records and proper storage conditions.Working under the Direction of the Dentist and Operations Leader, the tasks and responsibilities of a Sterilization Technician include but are not limited to:Responsible for cleanliness of the dental practiceSterilize dental instruments and materials using the ultrasonic and autoclaveReport on equipment and instrument failures and/or misplacementMaintain OSHA complianceSetting up and breaking down of operatory roomsDispose of sharps as mandated by OSHACollection, preparation and organization of dental trays, instruments and equipment for scheduled dental visitsProactive in leading and supporting the Marquee Dental Culture by maintaining a positive, friendly, and supportive dispositionOther duties and responsibilities assignedRequiredHigh School diploma or equivalentKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesSelf-starter, Independent worker/thinkerOrganized, safety consciousCustomer Service FocusedAttention to detailLifelong learner, committed to continual educational advancementCan take respectful, constructive feedbackCan complete tasks in a timely manner
