Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine the mental health needs of students, leading to tailored treatment plans that align with individual circumstances. \n
- Provide short-term individual counseling sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques and crisis intervention strategies to assist students facing challenges related to academics, relationships, and mental health. \n
- Lead therapy groups and workshops that address relevant topics such as stress management, anxiety reduction, and personal development, creating a supportive peer learning environment. \n
- Work closely with academic advisors, residential life staff, and student organizations to coordinate student support initiatives, effectively addressing holistic wellness pathways. \n
- Engage in outreach programs that promote mental health awareness and prevention strategies, including planning wellness events to engage the wider campus community. \n
- Maintain detailed and confidential records in accordance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring compliance with mental health regulations and best practices. \n
The primary focus of this role is on college students, who often face unique mental health challenges including academic pressure, identity development, and social interactions. Understanding the specific stresses of young adults within a campus context is crucial for delivering effective support and intervention.
Qualifications\n- \n
- An active, unrestricted license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. \n
- Proven ability to understand and address the mental health concerns specific to college students, demonstrating empathy and professional insight. \n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills necessary for building rapport with students and collaborating within a diverse educational community. \n
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices and brief intervention models appropriate for a university counseling setting. \n
- A strong capacity for managing a varied and demanding caseload while maintaining quality care and efficacy. \n
