Our client is expanding their team due to growth for an entry level Staff Accountant to join this well-tenured group in a very stable company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of accounts payabale and financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team. 

 

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the department head to understand and ensure accuracy of all Accounts Payable and financial reporting activity
• Assist in preparation and distribution of financial statements
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting
• 0 - 2 years' experience in accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Up to 2 years of accounting experience, including internships or entry-level exposure; oil and gas experience is helpful but not required.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles under GAAP and comfort handling transactional financial data with accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as lookups, pivot tables, and spreadsheet-based reconciliation work.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger support.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines during monthly close and other reporting cycles.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with finance and operations teams.
• Analytical mindset, sound problem-solving ability, and a detail-oriented approach to handling sensitive financial information.
