Senior Electrical Engineer - Power

Our client is a privately owned engineering firm with a long, stable history and no interest in selling to private equity. Their power group designs large industrial and utility-scale systems. The practice is growing and they are searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to add to a capable, professional team whose members work closely with each other.This is an important, highly visible position within the group, with a high ceiling for advancement and the compensation will reflect that.The scale of the work sets this group apart. Current and recent projects include:Data center power supply up to 2 GW, using reciprocating engines and aeroderivative gas turbinesPower generation plants from 50 MW to 500 MW, grid-connected and standaloneGrid-scale battery storage up to 250 MW / 1,000 MWhDistrict energy and renewable systems in a dense urban coreGenerator interconnections, including a 115 kV gen-tie to the utilityMedium-voltage drives for 13,000 kW pumpsMaster plan studies for university and pharmaceutical campuses Location: Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, or Los Angeles/Long Beach. Hybrid schedule. Relocation available for the right candidate.What you would be doing:Lead electrical design for generation, storage, and large industrial power projects, from schematic design through construction documentsDesign systems from low voltage through 34.5 kV, and interconnections at 115 kV and aboveRun power system studies, including cable sizing and deratingServe as owner's engineer and support developers through design and constructionCoordinate interconnection requirements with utilitiesMentor and develop younger engineers on the teamWhat we are looking for:10+ years of power systems design experience in generation, substations, battery storage, and/or large industrial or mission critical power (15 to 20 years preferred)BS in Electrical or Power EngineeringMedium- and high-voltage design experience, including utility interconnectionPE preferredThe ability to take a project and run it, and communicate well with clients and colleaguesThe desire to help mentor the next generation of engineers
