Pay: $63,000–$67,000 annually About the Role Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team and help students build the skills they need to participate , learn, and thrive in their educational environment. This school-based position focuses on supporting students' f ine motor skills, sensory processing, behavioral regulation, activities of daily living (ADLs/IADLs), classroom participation, and functional living skills. As an Occupational Therapist at Best Point, you'll have the opportunity to provide individualized and small-group therapy while working closely with teachers, families, administrators, behavior support staff, and other related service providers. You'll conduct evaluations, develop student-centered treatment plans, implement IEP/504 goals, and help students generalize skills across academic and real-world settings. Qualifications CurrentODE 5-Year Pupil Services Licenseor ODE Registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Ohio schools. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Valid Ohio Occupational Therapist license through the OTPTAT Board . NBCOT certification preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Experience working with students with disabilities, including students with autism and behavioral or communication challenges. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team. $63,000–$67,000 annually Monday–Friday schedule with summers off! Implement occupational therapy services aligned withIEP and 504 goals. Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions as appropriate. Support development of fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, functional living, and classroom participation skills. Utilize evidence-based approaches, includingStructured Teaching, behavioral interventions, and CPI de-escalation techniques. Serve as a positive role model for social skills, self-care, independence, and emotional regulation. Collaborate with teachers to develop classroom strategies and curriculum modifications that support student participation. Partner with families to support carryover and generalization of skills across environments. Participate in school events, team meetings, and multidisciplinary planning. Coordinate services with administrators, behavior support staff, and other related service providers. Assessments & Treatment Planning Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments. Developstrength-based, student-centered treatment plans. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute occupational therapy expertise to educational planning. Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student records. Complete required therapy documentation, service logs, and progress reports. Maintain organized therapy spaces and ensure necessary resources are available. Manage scheduling and coordinate services across the school environment. Quality & Professional Development Maintain compliance with educational, state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay current with evidence-based occupational therapy practices and special education requirements. Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve student outcomes and service delivery. Specialized Program Support Support sensory rooms and mock apartment spaces designed to promote functional and independent living skills. Assist with transition planning and task analysis. Collaborate with behavior support staff to address student needs. Participate in program initiatives that promote student independence, engagement, and success. Complete other duties as assigned. This position works in aschool-based educational and therapeutic environment and involves direct interaction with students with disabilities, including students with autism and behavioral or communication challenges. Employees may be exposed to challenging behaviors, shouting, and clients who may demonstrate verbal or physical aggression. The position may also involve exposure to blood, vomit, and other bodily fluids. Employees are expected to maintain a calm, professional, therapeutic, and safety-focused approach when responding to student needs and challenging behaviors.
