WCS Healthcare is actively seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a premier academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is within a highly specialized Pediatric Critical Care Unit, providing care to critically ill pediatric and adolescent patients in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Position Details

Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Critical Care
Specialty: PICU / Pediatric ICU / Critical Care
Schedule: Nights
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Commitment: 13 shifts per month (3x12 schedule equivalent)
Location: New York City
Employment Type: Contract / Travel / Local Contract

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients requiring intensive monitoring and critical care interventions.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Monitor complex patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
Administer medications, treatments, blood products, and IV therapies according to established protocols.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Requirements

Active RN license in good standing.
BLS Certification required.
PALS Certification required.
Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU and/or Critical Care nursing experience.
Experience with high-acuity patients, ventilators, vasoactive drips, and critical care monitoring preferred.
Strong communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills.
