GENERAL SUMMARYPerforms a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support a definedpatient population program or service. Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized byquality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Providesdevelopmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care. Reports to Practice Manager/Supervisor andworks in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the practice physician(s). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, andregulations.Participates in ongoing quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishingand updating applicable policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONSCurrent Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact Statelicense.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSProfessional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through thecompletion of an accredited School of Nursing.Professional certification in the area of expertise or BSN, MSN, or NP preferred.Technical and professional knowledge and skills unique to the business and/or clinical services provided,usually acquired through 3-5 years' progressive clinical experience in the related specialty preferred.Pediatric experience preferred.CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.WORKING CONDITIONSExpected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards suchas, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicablediseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient careactivities can be expected.
