Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to join our Immunology team in Indianapolis, IN.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Job Responsibilities

Successfully performs the specific department duties as set forth in the task list and/or department training checklist. Adheres to established Safety SOPs and Universal Precaution guidelines at all times. Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment. Minimizes biohazard waste. Cleans workstation and materials daily. Demonstrates proficiency in applicable computer systems and software. Properly handles specimens and resolves specimen issues independently in preparation for analysis and specimen storage. Contacts internal clients for clarification as needed. Performs all procedures in accordance with the written department SOPs. Generates an appropriate audit trail for all activities. Provides support to testing personnel in preparation for sample analysis Receive, open, and place in service all reagents according to SOPs. Prepare and properly label reagents and document according to SOPs. Prepares and properly labels quality control material accurately. Perform clerical functions as needed including timely filing of department records, printing of worksheets and other records, and preparing data for archival. May assist in training new employees and follows-up to ensure training is understood. May perform maintenance on instruments and equipment according to manufacturer and SOP requirements, and documents according to SOP. Notifies laboratory management when an instrument or equipment does not meet specifications. May perform pipette calibrations and document according to SOP.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates Degree; experience may be substituted for education.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year laboratory assistant experience
• Bachelor's Degree in a related science field

• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range: All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
