About the Position

Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required; scheduling will meet departmental needs with flexibility across all sections of the Emergency Department

Highlights:

• 101-bed high-volume Emergency Department with over 100,000 visits annually
• Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
• Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Cerner EMR documentation system with Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Dedicated support staff including techs, unit clerks on days and nights, and specialized areas such as cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage
• Internal floating only within ED sections; no floating outside the department

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the Emergency Department
• Adherence to patient experience standards including AIDET methodology
