Requirements

Licensure: Current and unrestricted Dental Hygienist licensure (RDH).
Experience: At least one (1) to two (2) years of experience in dental hygiene.
Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines.
Communication: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical: Able to stand for extended periods and bend repeatedly.
Schedule: Must be able to work the exact specified office schedule (listed in the Work Schedule section).

Job Description

Clinical Assessment & Screening: Conduct comprehensive health screenings, including taking vital signs, performing preliminary exams, collecting oral health histories, and evaluating patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and infection (patient assessment/diagnostic evaluation).
Preventive & Therapeutic Care: Perform dental cleanings (dental prophylaxis), remove plaque, apply fluoride treatments, and instruct patients on effective oral hygiene techniques.
Diagnostics & Records: Take dental X-rays and impressions, and accurately record all medical histories and patient information, adhering to HIPAA guidelines (maintaining patient confidentiality).
Patient Experience: Welcome patients, ensure their comfort in the treatment area, discuss the dental care plan, and answer any questions they have (patient interaction).
Team Collaboration: Assist the dentist during procedures and exams, prep sterilized equipment, and ensure all necessary materials are available.
Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including HIPAA regulations, and office policies.
