Job Description The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports daily plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and coordinating medical and safety support as directed by the Center Manager and Center Physician. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions during the facility visit, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities, and help develop Center Physician standing orders. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues, ensuring donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation with occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (EMT-Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits Comprehensive benefits starting Day 1. Location USA – WI – Fond du Lac Compensation U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44.
