Job Title: Lock Shop Team Lead

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Summary: The Lock Shop Team Lead is responsible for leading employees in the daily assembly and production of locks, sliding devices, and other door hardware. This position works alongside the production team while providing guidance, assigning tasks, monitoring workflow, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support employees during daily lock shop production and assembly operations.
• Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and help ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
• Assemble locks, sliding devices, and other door hardware according to blueprints, written instructions, diagrams, and work orders.
• Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and other assembly equipment.
• Inspect completed parts and products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Identify defects, assembly issues, or incorrect parts and take appropriate corrective action.
• Train new employees on assembly procedures, quality expectations, equipment use, and workplace safety.
• Provide employees with clear instructions, coaching, and assistance when needed.
• Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and compliance with workplace procedures.
• Communicate production updates, staffing concerns, quality issues, and equipment needs to management.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and inventory records as required.
• Ensure materials, tools, and supplies are available and properly organized for production.
• Help troubleshoot mechanical assembly problems and recommend improvements to the production process.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Ensure employees follow all company policies, safety procedures, and production requirements.
• Work effectively with other departments, supervisors, and management to meet company goals.
• Perform physical duties such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous team lead, supervisor, or leadership experience in a production, manufacturing, assembly, or warehouse environment.
• Previous mechanical assembly experience.
• Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, written instructions, and work orders.
• Ability to assign tasks, provide direction, and hold team members accountable.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify product defects and assembly errors.
• Ability to work alongside employees while managing the team's daily workflow.
• Ability to follow and enforce company safety procedures and workplace policies.
• Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions when needed.
• Must be able to pass all required pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Leadership experience in a lock shop, hardware manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or production environment.
• Experience assembling locks, door hardware, sliding devices, or similar mechanical products.
• Experience training, coaching, and evaluating production employees.
• Knowledge of quality-control and production processes.
• Experience tracking production numbers, completing reports, or maintaining inventory records.
