Lead Electrical Controls EngineerAn established industrial automation organization is seeking a Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, integration, and commissioning of custom automated systems. This position offers a mix of controls engineering, hands-on troubleshooting, and cross-functional project collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing and automation environment.Position ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical control systems for custom automation equipmentProgram and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, motion controllers, and related automation hardwareCreate electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system documentation using electrical CAD softwareSupport integration with existing production equipment and third-party systemsAssist with equipment startup, commissioning, debug, and troubleshooting activitiesCoordinate with mechanical engineering, robotics, assembly, and project management teams throughout project executionSupport electrical assembly and panel build efforts to ensure compliance with project requirementsParticipate in system testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiativesOccasionally travel to customer sites for installation support, startup assistance, and service workDesired BackgroundExperience with PLC, HMI, and motion control programmingHands-on experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms, with exposure to Ignition SCADA development, integration, and system support.Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, sensors, VFDs, servos, and automation devicesAbility to create and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsFamiliarity with industrial machinery safety and electrical standardsStrong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesHands-on mindset with the ability to support field and shop activities as neededThis is an excellent opportunity for an engineer seeking a highly collaborative environment with exposure to custom automation projects, controls integration, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
