Responsibilities Review and code patient records for both inpatients and outpatients Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes Verify CPT-4 codes, DRGs, and APCs Requirements 1-3 years acute care coding experience Knowledge of anatomy and physiology Medical terminology proficiency Pathology of disease understanding Experience with ICD-10-CM coding Experience with ICD-10-PCS coding Experience with CPT-4 coding Associate degree in Health Information Technology Certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCA Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in coding patient records with a strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding systems.
