Job Summary:

Position Title: Stationary Engineer
Location: 639 Exchange Street, Attica NY, 14011
Duration: 6 months
Work Schedule:24/7. Three 8 hour shifts per day

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
The power plant is located on the facility premises but outside of the facility confines. (Contractors may need to perform work inside the active correctional facility on an emergency basis.) It is a high pressure steam facility that is staffed 24/7 including state holidays. This requires highly trained personnel (Stationary Engineers, Operating Engineers, Building, Boiler Makers) to operate and maintain the boilers and associated equipment. Also required is conducting monthly emergency, stationary generator tests and all record keeping required by the facility. The work schedule will be configured to include regular days off. Background checks are required. The task list, but not limited to, is below.
• Trane water tube boilers (2) 60,000 PPH (1) 30,000 PPH - dual fuel Natural Gas primary with #2 oil backup. Maintain
• DA Tank boiler feed water, 3 Weinman pumps - Maintain
• Chemical injection pumps and pump controller (monitoring)
• Condensate tank and transfer pumps (maintain and weekly blow downs)
• DA and Condensate return tanks (Monitor, maintain.)
• Water Softener System (add solar salt)
• Fuel Pumps and Strainer (cleaning and maintain.)
• Conductivity blow downs (maintain and monitoring)
• Boiler and DA chemicals (maintain and monitoring)
• Daily boiler water testing
• 2 Quincy 5120 2 stage air compressors, 1 Joy twistair rotary screw air compressor back up for boiler air and dryer system (maintain and monitoring)
• Client for facility heat/AC (monitor, maintain temperatures)
• 3 1750KW spectrum Detroit diesel generators and facility switchgear (operate and monitor)
• 250KW ONAN generator and Powerhouse switchgear (operate and monitor)
• Powerhouse #2 fuel oil tanks monitors and switches tanks when on oil
• 3 Johnston fire tube boilers (2) 16.74MMBtu (1) 10.46 MMBtu, 1 Cleaver Brooks fire tube boiler 10.46MMBtu (monitor and maintain).
• Monitor 2 aboveground heating loops
• Monitor facility potable water pump station and water storage towers.
• Monitor and maintain 3 bar screens
• Monitor and maintain various outbuilding boilers and heating equipment.
• Provide technical guidance/training to junior staff as needed.
High Voltage Electrical System
Incoming utility power is 13,200-volt 3 Phase supplied by National Grid.
