Associate Respiratory Care Practitioner

Position Overview Associate Respiratory Care Practitioner at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. This position is per diem and will work 12‑hour variable shifts. Responsibilities Provides respiratory therapy in all non‑critical areas and all adult critical care areas of the hospital as ordered by the Medical Staff. Responsibilities include mechanical ventilation (BIPAP), oxygen therapy, limited and comprehensive patient assessments (TDP), chest physiotherapy, coughing and breathing exercises, aerosol therapy, CPR, administration of aerosolized medications and therapeutic gases, blood gas drawing, analysis, and interpretation. Performs quality control and maintenance on blood gas and co‑oximetry instruments. Exercises independent judgment, makes respiratory care decisions, and takes action based on hospital and departmental policies. Supervises respiratory care students and reports appropriately through the chain of command. Qualifications Graduated from an accredited respiratory therapy program. California Respiratory Care Practitioner license upon hire. National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) upon hire. National Provider ACLS (American Heart Association) within 90 days of hire. National Provider PALS (American Heart Association) within 90 days of hire. Clinical experience in respiratory therapy with background in physiology and pharmacology. Why Join Providence?
