Staff Android Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create reliable Android components and flows using modern technologies such as Jetpack Compose.
• Build in-car interface features that clearly communicate the vehicle’s intentions and inspire customer trust.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, Product Managers, and Vehicle Software Engineers to launch in-car experiences.
• Design and maintain software controlling in-car displays, audio, and climate systems.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle with emphasis on quality and robustness for safety-sensitive systems.
• Lead technical designs and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 3 years of Android application development experience, including testing, maintenance, and feature launches.
• Ability to independently design and implement significant features or components.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java and strong understanding of Android internals.
• Preferred: Android platform/AOSP development, custom Android builds, or embedded systems experience.
• Preferred: In-car infotainment or automotive software development experience.
• Preferred: Performance analysis and optimization for resource-constrained devices.
• Preferred: Full-stack experience designing and integrating server-side APIs for client features.
