Physical Therapist

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist manages a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic, providing skilled physical therapy evaluations and treatment plans. This role supports medical staff, participates in interdisciplinary teams, promotes staff development, and ensures compliance with corporate, state, and federal guidelines. The therapist also coordinates an orthopedic specialty field clinic, optimizes department revenue, and manages expenses to maintain financial viability. Responsibilities:

• Manage inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic operations.
• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and establish treatment plans.
• Support medical staff and participate in interdisciplinary team functions.
• Promote a team atmosphere and professional development of department staff.
• Coordinate orthopedic specialty field clinic including referral screening and prioritization.
• Optimize department revenue streams and manage expenses.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, state, and federal physical therapy practice guidelines.
• Collaborate with corporate teams to build administrative processes.
• Prepare reports, audits, and track performance measures.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Minimum of four years active, full-time patient care experience.
• Licensed in good standing as a Physical Therapist in Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficient in use of office equipment and physical therapy modalities.
• Strong communication, mathematical, computer, and reasoning skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Previous managerial experience in a physical therapy setting.
• Experience coordinating specialty clinics and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively across cultural differences.

Special Considerations:

• Work environment includes hospital-based physical therapy department and village-based settings requiring travel by small, non-pressurized planes.

• Compliance with all corporate, state, and federal governing body guidelines is mandatory.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule to be determined based on clinic needs; includes inpatient and outpatient services.
• May include coordination of field clinics requiring flexible scheduling and travel.
